AAA President Message – March

Hello AAA Members,

Standing on the sidewalk, I can see Spring’s doorstep. The temperatures are warming, Leo and Cancer rise not long past sunset. As we pass by Winter many of the event coordinators are planning or have set schedules for their respective 2018 events.

On the AAA website, both the “Upcoming Events” on the homepage and the AAA Calendar page are updated to reflect these schedules.

Speaking of 2018 dates, please keep in mind the following dates for some of significant dates:

April

21–22    Northeast Astronomy Forum (NEAF)

28    Van Cortlandt Park Stargazing, Bronx

May

16    Annual AAA Meeting, Location TBD

19    Spring Starfest, Evergreens Cemetery, Bklyn

June

2-3    World Science Festival, Bklyn Bridge Park

Public Outreach

Observing coordinators have set their schedules. I encourage you all to visit at least one of the events, with or without a telescope. It is truly a rewarding experience to give. Consult the Observing page for details about any of the locations throughout the city http://www.aaa.org/observing/.

AAA TalkTalk

AAA TalkTalk is new general discussion group on Google Groups. The club lacked a general forum which any Member can reach out to the Membership. As with all AAA Google Groups, one has to be enrolled as a member to post messages to the group and configure settings. Contact [email protected] to be added to that group or if you have questions about any Google Group.

I hope you enjoy this season and look forward to meeting you soon at one of the events mentioned above.

All the best!

Peter Tagatac,

AAA | President
