The AAA is proud to announce the launch of the second season of AAASky, the Club's official podcast.
Beginning on October 17, the monthly audio podcast will feature new interviews with astronomers, educators, historians, telescope makers, astrophotographers and the occasional astro fashionista.
Last Spring in Season 1, hosts Irene Pease and Stanley Fertig explored with their guests brown dwarfs and black holes, Mars landings and astro fashion, galactic cannibalism and ethnoastronomy, to name but a few of the diverse topics covered.
Season 2 will feature new co-host Maggie Machinsky, along with Stanley. Club member Maggie is an award winning photographer whose work has been featured by Nikon and National Geographic, and who juggles her time between civil engineering and photography, all while being an active member of the AAA and its astrophotography group. You can see some of her work at maggiemachinsky.com.
Tune in on October 17 to hear Stanley interview Cyril Dupuy, the creator of Stellina, an entirely new kind of smart telescope from France. And of course you can catch up on episodes you’ve missed at AAASky.nyc. Or subscribe using whatever podcast aggregator you prefer: Apple, Spotify, Google Play, Overcast, Stitcher and others.
Be sure to enter the monthly Listener Challenge, where we ask you a question about a previous episode and award a prize to the winner. This month we’ll be offering a unisex AAASky Hoodie from Zazzle in your choice of size and color.
AAASky wants you! We love to hear from you. If you have a comment or a question, or an idea for a topic you’d like us to cover, please tell us! You can contact the hosts directly at firstname.lastname@example.org. AAASky, the podcast of, by and for AAA members. Don’t miss it!
