Thank You, Eyepiece
Hi, AAA!
I’ve never been great at long goodbyes, so I’ll cut to the chase: as of March 1, 2023, I will be stepping down as editor-in-chief for Eyepiece.
What does this mean for our beloved newsletter? Well, it means that someone among us will have the opportunity to take the reins and continue publishing the articles and illustrations we all know and love.
With that said, if you enjoy writing, editing, or if your daily Wordle just isn’t a challenge anymore, join the Eyepiece team! Contact our esteemed president, Brian Berg, with your information. We kindly ask that you come with the intention of assisting the Eyepiece team for a minimum of six months. This will ensure a smooth transition as a new editor-in-chief is selected. And if you’d like familiarize yourself with the Eyepiece Submissions structure, click this handy-dandy link.
Much like matter in the universe, I will still be around, serving as Vice President of Operations and co-chair of the Observing Committee. But I want to thank everyone that has contributed to Eyepiece while I’ve served for the last 14 months – from submissions, to editing, to you, the reader. Eyepiece is second only to observing in how much fun I’ve had with AAA over the last 11 years, and I’m extremely grateful for the opportunity (and trust) given to me by everyone involved.
In true cheeseball fashion, I’m gonna close this with a quote: “Space is for everybody. It’s not just for a few people in science or math, or for a select group of astronauts. That’s our new frontier out there, and it’s everybody’s business to know about space.” –Christa McAuliffe
So, help us write about space!
