Gateway South is Online!
Gateway South is now on-line! A southern hemisphere telescope, based in Chile, is now available to AAA Gateway Remote Telescope members, in addition to our Ft. Davis, Texas rig. Check out both telescopes on the Gateway page. Then go to this link to join one of the tier levels. Take a look at images from the Gateway North telescope on our Gallery. We’ll soon be adding southern objects to the gallery.
We have three tiers available for a fee for either North and South, and a fourth for free. NOTE: all tiers have access to all the data.
- Supernova: full operating access to the telescope for at least two nights a month.
- Galaxy: Ability to select at least one specific target a month to be imaged by the operators.
- Nebula: Full access to the library of data obtained by the operators.
- Star Cluster (free): keep up to date with the Gateway project through lectures, demos.
Thanks to member Antoine Ribaut who is allowing us to use his setup in the mountains of Chile near the Gemini South and Vera Rubin observatories. We’ll now have the whole universe available to Gateway members.
Consider supporting the Gateway project through our donation portal. Make sure to designate “Gateway” as the recipient, and tune into our December 3 Gateway Lecture where we will showcase the Chile telescope. Register here for the free Zoom link.
