Join us for the 2022-23 AAA Lecture Series

Our guest speaker for February 21 is Dr. Andy Rivkin of Johns Hopkins University Applied Research Laboratory, for their lecture on The DART: NASA’s First Planetary Defense Test Mission.
The Amateur Astronomers Association Lecture Series is on the second Tuesday of the month, from October–May (unless indicated), beginning at 7:00 PM Eastern time.
Lectures are free and open to the public, but registration via Zoom is required.
Andy Rivkin’s research centers around near-infrared spectroscopy and spectrophotometry of asteroids. He studies asteroids that have evidence of water or organic materials in them, detectable in their infrared reflectance spectrum.
