Presenting eclipse details and photography tips.

A total lunar eclipse will be visible on March 13-14 from the Americas, Greenland and right here in New York City! In our area the eclipse begins near 12 AM Friday; the full “blood red” phase runs from 2:26 AM to 3:31 AM Friday morning. The moon will be towards the south, half-way up in the sky. Easy to see, easy to photograph.

If you want to learn how to take photos of the celestial event, sign up for the one-night class instructed by Stan Honda, of the AAA Astrophotography Group.

He’ll take you through planning, equipment selection and exposure suggestions using digital cameras and ordinary lenses. Unlike a solar eclipse, no special filters needed!

Click this link to register (no fee).

You’ll receive a confirmation from Zoom containing a link to join the class next Friday, March 7, at 7 PM.
