Ways of Knowing: Eclipse Sagas (2025)
THURSDAY, JULY 10, online, 7-8:30 PM
With Kat Troche, new President of the AAA, formerly Vice-President of Operations and classes instructor. Currently NASA Solar System Ambassador, Night Sky Network administrator, and informal educator with the Astronomical Society of the Pacific (ASP).
Observing the sky is a part of being human, and eclipses are no exception. To commemorate the solar eclipses of 2023 and 2024, the ASP and NASA commissioned a set of cards titled ‘Ways of Knowing’ containing authenticated cultural stories about what occurs during a solar eclipse. During this talk, we will learn how various cultures across the globe discuss this celestial phenomenon.
