This Pi Day (3/14), join Astronomy on Tap NYC and the Amateur Astronomer Association at the Greenpoint branch of the Brooklyn Public Library for an evening dedicated to the upcoming solar eclipse!
Hosted by Astronomy on Tap’s own Brian Levine (he/him) aka MC Tycho Brewhaha, we will feature two presentations – one with information on how to safely watch an eclipse, and a second about Einstein’s historic use of an eclipse in 1919 to further his research work! We’ll also have a game with prizes, and everyone in attendance will receive a free pair of eclipse glasses!

Our speakers:
Kat Troche (she/her) is an amateur astronomer and NASA Solar System Ambassador. When she isn’t live-streaming astronomy under the name “Kuiper Kat,” she is taking it to the street with sidewalk astronomy sessions around the five boroughs, and runs day-to-day operations for NASA’s Night Sky Network and the Amateur Astronomers Association here in NYC.
Chris Carr (he/him) is a PhD candidate at Columbia in Astronomy. He studies how galaxies like our Milky Way have formed and evolved over the history of the universe. He is a native of Cleveland, OH and is excited to be returning home to view the solar eclipse over Lake Erie with his family!
