The Amateur Astronomers Association hosts observing sessions, free and open to the public, at Great Kills Park located in Great Kills, Staten Island, NY. Cancelled if cloudy. Telescopes will be provided. Dress warm when cold. Be aware of mosquitos during the summer.

 

The entrance to the park is located at 3270 Hylan Blvd, however, we meet at the south end of the parking lot along Buffalo Street, just before you reach Great Kills Harbor.

 

DIRECTIONS: Enter park at Hylan Blvd. and Buffalo St., proceed approx. .95 mile to large parking lot on left. Observing site is in the south-east corner near small playground. Be aware, speed limit is 25MPH! Watch for deer. If taking Public Transportation, there is a paved path parallel to the roadway. There are no streetlights.
